Abstract

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a critical AI technology in modern healthcare, enabling the extraction of actionable insights from unstructured clinical notes, research papers, and patient feedback. This paper investigates the role of NLP in improving clinical decision support systems (CDSS) by providing real-time recommendations to healthcare professionals. Applications such as automated medical coding, symptom triage chatbots, and drug interaction alerts are reviewed. The paper concludes with a discussion on the limitations of NLP models in handling domain-specific terminologies and ambiguous language.
